I found my home IP on the StopForumSpam website with a date of May 14th. Seems like my proxies may be leaking my IP as well. I use 10 private proxies from proxy-hub. I only use these proxies in GSA-SER. The email associated with my home IP on StopForumSpam is one I only use for GSA-SER
@m3ownz I tried your little test suggestion. I went to this site http://www.hashemian.com/whoami/ , and used the PtoxySwitchy plugin for chrome. Tested all 10 proxies with it, and none of them showed my home IP. They all showed my private proxy IPs.
@sven I really think there may be a bug some where that's leaking proxies.
@sven that's a bit unsettling. So, basically even though I'm using good anonymous private proxies, and have all my SER settings correct my home IP can still be leaked out using SER. And nobody knows why?
@sven - I remember when i first complained about this and it looked like it was only me complaining about this! Now we know that the problem has to do with GSA SER bcos we have people that use different captcha solving services!
@LeeG yes, I use proxies for everything including verification. And I have the "Stop projects on no active proxies" turned on. Plus the email listed on SFS with the IP is only used for SER.
@Ozz because the SFS listing has my SER email listed, I'm assuming it got flagged while trying to make a post. Why else would it have my email?
@Sven Is it possible to know which site/link is associated with the email? I use a catchall with a bunch of randomly generated emails.
Does SEO Indexer use emails when it does submissions?
@Sven that's strange, but I can find the email in any of the static files. I assume your talking about the ones in AppData\Roaming\GSA Search Engine Ranker\projects\
@sven that's too bad. If we could have tracked down the site, then maybe it would have given us a clue as to why my IP number is leaking through the proxies
@dogGoogles Thanks for the links. Checked all of my 50 private proxies with the Chrome plugin and the website. They all are showing my proxy IP.
2 complaints I got in the past on my VPS is because of posting from GSA. It was clear from the complaint that the information I submitted on their website was through GSA. I used private proxies for everything in GSA. I also use Scrapebox a lot on my VPS but never got any complaint with those proxies.
I'm hoping that we can figure out this problem soon. I haven't run my GSA from last 2 days because I don't want to get another abuse complaint
Yes, I've stopped running SER as well. I can't risk losing my home ISP. It would seem like the only solution here, is to move to a VPS that doesn't care about running SER.
@sven I would really like to know why this is happening. All our proxies seem to be good, and the problems all seem to occur when running SER.
Well as said before, I can not see why it would "leak". Proxies are used everywhere. If someone knows the site where this happened, fine...message me that one in pm.
@sven is it possible to have an option to save account data for failed submissions? I tried finding my email reported in SFS in the static files, but apparently the static files only have successful submissions? I would suspect most of these SFS reported or ISP complaints are going to come from failed submissions. I'd be willing to keep track of any leaked IPs and send them to you once I get setup and running again on a VPS.
I intentionally registered just to post in this topic I am using proxy for everything including google searching. Anyway my problem is like this - I used GSA very intensively in April and had no issues. In May my IP appears in stopforumspam 23 times. Its not a big deal as I have buletproof vps, but I don't like be listed anywhere The problem is that in May I submitted much less links then in April, so its really weird why I am on this spam list.
After analyzing what I've changed during this time, I found only one thin. I was really tired collecting text captcha, so I bought access to askmebot.com and since I activated it I got all this warnings.
So Sven could you check if there is no problem when data is sending betwen GSA and askmebot.com. Could anyone who have problems with leaking IP confirmed that using askmebot.com too?
@Anddrew - it cant be askmebot because i only just signed up to askmebot on the 18th of April 2013 and i got my first ISP complaint on the 18th of March 2013.
Okay maybe this is coincident but facts are real, my problems started after that. Anyway if this is not this problem there has to be something else, as leaking IP is a real problem not imagined
I'm also getting warnings from my ISP provider. I'm using 10 private proxies from Squid proxies and 20 semi private from Proxy bonanza, using proxies everywhere in SER. Also running SEO indexer with proxies. SER & Indexer are the only 2 programs i'm using through my ISP.
When using askmebot, it is not using proxies of course. But it is sending the question + url to it. But I see no connection how the proxy would leak here.
@Sven I have been using GSA from Nov 2012 and have never received any complaints from my VPS. It has only been recently, that I got 2 complaints in this month. I updated GSA regularly.
Being a developer, I can only suggest that you should check your recent changes to see if anything got changed unintentionally.
I've switched over to a VPS after I saw my home IP showing up on StopForumSpam. I haven't seen my IP from my VPS show up on StopForumSpam yet. It's only been a week or 2 though.
@londonseo . . . do you use a plugin like SEOQuake in your browser? I know if I do a lot of searches with SEOQuake turned on for SERPs that it will eventually prompt Google to start asking me for captchas
I have all options checked for private proxies and Berman Hosting said today I was blacklisted. So, I am really not sure. I am even using proxies for SEI!
Literally only option I had checked was "skip for identification".
I think in reality Berman Hosting were just using that as an excuse. They probably had some downtime as I wasn't able to login to the server, which doesn't make sense to me if the IP was blacklisted why could I not log in? Strange
I have also recently recieved some abuse complaints. All my proxies are private ones via IPFreelyproxies and I have all the settig in GSA to use private proxies only.
Was doing a lot of trackback stuff and recieved 8 complaints in the last 2 weeks all showing my server IP. I have changed my DNS to googles servers today so will see if that makes a difference, but still a bit concerned as my host wants to lock out my Dedi if they get any more
I've been on Berman for three weeks now, with no leakage to date. That's about 60K verified links with just about every type of platform in the mix. I was getting leakage when I was running on my home PC. I keep checking SFS for my IP every few days.
I think the problem is related to the worm/trojan I discussed in another thread that is probably using my server for spam. I will clear that out and then report back in a few days.
@FatSteve I have checked the proxy options for checking emails too though... Would @Sven be open to checking this issue on my server directly ? I can give login details via PM.
Ok so now I am a victim. Been using GSA since September...ALWAYS use private proxies nd never an issue...now in the last 5 days my ISP is shutting me down as they are finding websites sending traffic or ro much use from my ISP. This is from my laptop which runs GSA. All boxes are checked for ip's
There has got to be something for us all coming down with spam issues when this has not happend before. I will monitor close and have to stop using the software until this can be fixed....
spunko2010 i'm having the same issues with Berman Hosting. I think they're using this to make extra money as they charge $10 to change IP's. After I was blacklisted the first time, i couldn't connect to my VPS so they changed my IP free of charged. I stopped using SER on that server and left it; few days later my ip was blacklisted again and I couldn't connect.

Are you guys using proxies for everything?
If your not using them for link checking, there might be a reason for you being listed in sfs
@Ozz link checking is done by normal User Agents from most common browsers, no bot-agents.
@dogGoogles yes, you can open the *.static file and search for that email. It should point to the sites where it was used.

Im interested in what exactly this does to prevent your iip from leaking?
When using askmebot, it is not using proxies of course. But it is sending the question + url to it. But I see no connection how the proxy would leak here.
Anyway problem for sure exist as for last 3 days my IP appears 15 times on stopforumspam.com
Literally only option I had checked was "skip for identification".

Any ideas, or is this now fixed
Does GSA use any browser to submit to sites at all?
