    Awesome ROFL.
  • You have succeeded in making this forum suck.

I used to see this forum as a place where Ser users came together to help each other out now I see nothing more then a bunch finger pointing and whining!

This is what guys do when they cant get laid?

I recently used Serlists for one of my clients projects.. I got a ton of verified links not using any of my own resources and on page 1 for like 10 out of 15 keyword in a week. It was worth the 30 bucks all day long!

But I guess it depends on your settings

And from my own experience Gscraper scrapes a lot of links mostly crap!

If someone was scraping millions of links and putting them in Ser with a few verified links its clearly a user error

I have seen a downfall in links as well but what do you expect for software that costs 89$ every engine to be running tip top shape with them changing daily?

@backlinkaddict‌ I do hope you're talking about the two people that were threatening each other and not everyone else, who tried to lighten the mood with a few funny gifs.

    Relax, don't do it.

When you speak of list sellers bla bla bla... In my eyes, I don't personally buy them nor have I tested them, I scrape my own, however when multiple people are 'finger pointing and whining' about said lists or any issue for that matter, then there is a problem that needs to be explained or resolved...

Personally, if a list selling service is selling lists (obviously lol, they wouldn't sell hamburgers) then at least provide good platforms, some services boasts at how many servers you require or how many servers they have, to scrape these amazing lists, so why don't they scrape quality platforms.

I'm sorry but if I purchased a listed and it was filled with blog comments, trackbacks, redirects, profiles and very little contextual sources, I'd instantly request a refund.

But then again, I havent seen the quality of any list seller here, I'm just speculating.

Exactly Tim89 - I bought an application and hence I request for support.

I couldn't care less about those lists (pills) or whatever they may be called!
What I was trying to do, was making issues with reference to GSA's Performance visible.

Dispite the fact that this application only cost 89$ - I still expect to receive updates and also support.
What you believe or think is entirely up to you, no one has pantency on the truth.

Note - that there were other guys with similar issues like mine i.e the performance decrease in terms of contextual links.

And for the last time - I don't care about those lists, filled with blog comments, trackbacks, redirects etc.
In my opinion, it's a total rip-off and I'm not interested in such lists, no matter if they are free or have to be bought.

If you are satisfied with such lists - so be it, it's your choice and decision. I don't blame you and I don't care about it either. Exactly why you shouldn't care about what others are doing in terms of scraping.

    To stay on topic:
This is still a support thread, with reference to the performance of GSA SER and contextual links (engines).
Unfortunately, this thread keeps being bumped with other stuff than the real context.

I begin to wonder if you will not try to sell us something, your thread have completely deviate. You have attacking type of person who would come to help you.

You surely will not receive or not much help in this way ...

    @Kaine
    Trying to sell something??

WTF are you talking about man?

I rest my case - completely impossible to reach out to 'normal guys' here with an objective and genuine request for support - bare in mind that this is a piece of software bought with a license.

Simply consider this last comment as closing this thread.
I will no longer ask for support here on this forum, obviously there seems to be to many lunatics around here.

Surely, I can afford that this software does not perform as expected - hence I don't even bother asking for a refund.

For those guys who are facing similar problems in this thread (GSA related) once again thank you for stepping up and helping in making the issue visible. Hopefully it will get resolved in time.

    ADIOS;)

Know that, no one is obliged to help you. Nobody want to spend time to learn how to do good seo and give this results to anyone, this service is expensive.

I do not like to see happen a newbie in your style, you disrespect to some of us you left will be painless.

Now if you can not make money with the best tool, guy gonna sell potatoes.
  • magicallymagically http://i.imgur.com/Ban0Uo4.png
    @Kaine
Now since you did insult me - how about you go fuck yourself?

I didn't ask for your comments or sensible feelings for that matter. As a legitimate buyer of this software, I would say I'm entitled to ask for support, exactly like everyone else.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people here who thinks they are ABOVE everyone else, like 'ELITE' and 'Special' - However in my opinion, everyone here are equal.

In terms of help...well I clearly see the 'gentleman principles' have left for good.

There is really no need to play ELITE or I-Know-Better-Than-Everyone-Else....How about playing it straight forward?

If you wanna participate and help - Great, highly appreciated.

If not - Also great, but then keep you opinions about being so-much-better-than-the-rest to yourself.

  • Wow...

Anyhow,  Yes I have seen a giant decrease in links as well.   If I compare links that i built a year ago, to now basically same settings throughout.  The links have dropped by 50-60%  IMO engines need to be updated.

Yes it seems SER just isn't running right whether it's emails, engines, proxies or whatever it isn't running as it used to do. I'm sure in time it will be great again but right now I can see why guys are getting frustrated. But instead of arguing we must help Sven et al get to the bottom of this problem/s so guys let's please stick together and help make this software great again

There is a decrease in links because many types of sites have died and too many people expect it to gain the results of past users, when you spam a site and site owners can't combat it they simply close or forget about it, the domain expires etc.

As more people used GSA, less targets became available as they were either abandoned, hardened with anti spam features, deindexed or all 3. There was a time when simply GSA + Captcha breaker would get you 100's of thousands of links, sorry to tell you but that time is long gone, unless your targetting spam holes like comment/trackback links

Everyone whining about it won't do much good, modify the engine files yourself. Xrumer was the same, you could post to every forum with it and as each year passed by it became less effective, the smart people modified it to suit their needs and kept quiet, the others whined saying it was to expensive and expected everyone else to solve their problems.

Delve into the .ini files & footprint studio, they are easy to understand.

The developers gave you a very powerful tool, much like a sledgehammer but don't expect them to break down the wall for you.

    Some top tips:

    - Out of a raw scraped list of 1 million expect less than 1% success, with modifications this can be increased

    - Proxies! Dedicated ones! At least 2 proxies for every thread you intend to run

    - Captcha solving. Eve/Spamvilla/CaptchaTronix are great but they don't come near DBC or other manual services

    - Email accounts matter, you need to host these yourself, public email providers will lock you out eventually and some sites take X days to approve your account, if your email is banned after 1 day you lose a lot of places.

    - List building is a constant thing, if you buy lists consider it a starter, load up the approved links in foot print studio and start scraping your own, it will take months.years to get a good list and it's a constant battle

    - Update your engine files! GSA do a good job of improving engines, but scripts based on WP/Vbulletin have hundreds if not thousands of permutations, don't think the out of the box engine files will solve them all, they need tweaking! There are some WP article plugins out there that only need a few line changes and you're done. They may not be hugely popular but that's a good thing!

    - Test, test, test. To expect to buy the software and be able to get thousands or tens of thousands of good links right away even with the best hardware or huge bought lists is very naive. Like all things practice makes perfect.

    @clausey
    Wonderful clausey!!

Many thanks for the tip - Will surely look into those .ini files and tune it.
In fact now we are at it - perhaps even make some add-on's in java to speed things up a little.

    @magically

Get yourself a manual captcha solver, load it up with some money and you'l get more links, all these automated ones are good but nowhere as good as manual ones, I like DeathByCaptcha or Anti-Captcha but most are good.

Use CaptchaTronix or SpamVilla first but they won't solve them all, they only solve 40-60% and it deteriorates as time goes by due to the increased difficulty for so many unsolved captchas unless you have thousands of proxies.

    Ideal setup is:

CaptchaTronix/SpamVilla (0-1 retry on hard captcha)
CaptchaBreaker (send recaptcha/mollom to captcha service - 2 retries)
Fallback captcha service (anti captcha or similar - no retries)

Also you need put your successful URLS into footprint studio, add more footprints based on the results and scrape again, rinse repeat.

Also if you're new, try mastering 1 engine at a time and increasing your success ratio doing that. If you can scrape 10,000 wordpress article sites and get a 1% success, try to get it to 2%, then 3% etc, once you have gone as far as you can move into the next engine.
  • magicallymagically http://i.imgur.com/Ban0Uo4.png
    @clausey
    Excellent information.

Yes, I'm very focused on the captha-solving part and specially the setup.

In terms of footprints, that is a new area I need to look much deeper into - in order to get some good results.
Using various footprints from other sources, like forums seems very obsolete and brings low quality.
No way around this, but to create really good footprints and keywords.

The strategy seems to be a clever method, which I will try out also - Highly appreciated.

  • Yeah building the lists are the hardest part but the more successful links you have the easier it is to get footprints which makes it easier to build larger & more successful lists,

Keep going, I've been using GSA on and off for 2 years, from where they started it's a hugely powerful piece of software but as with everything it needs to be modified otherwise you're doing the same thing everyone else is.

If you want to build a starter list try scraping the generic anchor text lists along with some spammy keywords like viagra/cialis/anything gambling or loan related
  • magicallymagically http://i.imgur.com/Ban0Uo4.png
    Absolutely:)

However these information are very valuable, and I think I got an idea now how to make those footprints...
Actually I didn't look into this footprint studio yet, and now I just found the holy graile:D
Absolutely fantastic, and i'm pretty sure now how to proceed even with it too.

Many many thanks for those hints and tips;)
  • Trevor_BanduraTrevor_Bandura 267,647 NEW GSA SER Verified List
For those that might have missed my last post in this thread from all other other ""Stuff"" going on in here.

I'm working with @Sven to figure out the problem with the lower link numbers. I sent him one file already to start looking in to for one part that is a big problem right now. There is still much testing and debugging to do so please hang in there as we get things all sorted out.

Many article engines have changed form names and such so this has had a huge effect on things. As we get things fixed up, I'll post some updates.

Over all, The newest version of SER is not as bad as many are making it out to be, I know I've tested an older version along with the newest versions with the same exact scrape. Things need to be updated with many engines and this will take a little time to get completed.

I have all engine priorities already set and working on it.
  • Im glad all the fighting is over now and we can get back to business.

Looks like everyone here is picking up tips that they can use to make their campaign better.  Thats what this forum is for.

@Trevor_Bandura Thanks for looking into this problem and working with Sven to get this issue resolved.  I know this is going to take some time to fix as it is not an overnight fix.  Please keep us updated.

Also, just out of curiousity what were the results for: Old GSA SER VS Latestest GSA SER?

  • Trevor_BanduraTrevor_Bandura 267,647 NEW GSA SER Verified List
@SuperSEO Well lets just say that I found out enough information about problems that I see the need to be shown to Sven and see if we can work on fixing it. Working with Sven the way i'm going about it I think will be much better than just posting in the forum with problems.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else and want to get it all fixed.
  • @Trevor_Bandura,
Thanks for working on this with Sven to get this sorted out- glad to know it's not just me having problems with contextual links.
  • @Trevor_Bandura thanks for helping in improving ser.
  • @Trevor_Bandura - Thanks as well. I've been struggling with finding solutions myself and reading numerous threads here about contextual links. My contextual links have been nearly non-existant when running tons of decent & fresh targets with good captcha settings. Been about 4-6 weeks like this for me now.
  • Trevor_BanduraTrevor_Bandura 267,647 NEW GSA SER Verified List
@slimdusty72 @j1387 @OldFusser No problem Guys. Stuff like this happens when these sites get spammed to death, they end up changing form names etc and this ended up breaking many engines in SER. Trying our best to get things fixed as soon as we can.
  • Tim89Tim89 www.expressindexer.solutions
This is what I anticipated the issue was...

Good work @Trevor_Bandura I'm sure we all appreciate your time.
  • Glad this thread seemed to turn around some...

I have noticed a lot of downloads failed... I looked into it and it was not my proxies or file size of Dl.

For example I ran all engines for Serengines to test. It was only posting to about 6 engines... I tried many runs with every setting imaginable.. Lastly I turned of proxy and it started to posting to all the engines.. This is not ideal situation but it tells me its not an issue with SER.. Its the sites changing..

When this happens it is good idea to enable important messages so you know if maybe emails or proxies or something else may be causing failure. I also like to create a file and log to file so I can look into it more if success has dropped. You can also run the debugger. Using these three tools inside Ser can help find problem.. I am sure for advanced users you already do this but for those who dont it may help a lot..

I did think someone was about to sell something as well at first coming in here an putting other services down but I feel a bit different know..

Ser is updated more then any other software I own and I own many of them.. For 89 dollar license your get a very powerful tool. I think clausey said it best.. Things chang as fast as Seo does and people would dont completly understand program and modify it to their needs are not going to have success like some people do.

I have another software I use but its monthly to keep engines updated just like Serengines is.. You cant expect Sven to keep all these engines running fine with no monthly fee can you? Thats rediculous.

I do think it would be a great to have a browser and easier way to create scripts and even better if users could share with each other like captcha breaker solving and other features.. That way users can improve program engine and developers can work on the software. It would be faster and cheaper to do it like this..

Honestly just glad to see people focusing on solution rather than putting other people/services down. These developers work very hard to provide these softwares/services and update them!
