A heartening thread. I built a site as a resource and quickly realized that the site would never rank using the moz peddled BS. Early thirties. I am fascinated by the topic and consider my first year to be devoted to learning and testing as much as possible
Would be nice to make a buck along the way. Also living in Asia doing this part time.
I have noticed in general, that the forums aimed at the more specific or technical side of this have a lot less muppets. I am very pleased to have learn so much here. And I have been making my way back through the forum posts steadily.
I was a Brit ex-pat living in Thailand (Chiang Mai and Phuket). Now I'm just a plain old Brit - and love seasons and not having to shower 6 times a day . Wish I'd started SEO back in '99 when I bought an e-book from eBay and never read it. It must have always appealed.
28 year old Irish guy here. Left my construction job in the middle of the economic crash to get a diploma in video production. Started my own business two years ago and soon became intrigued with Video SEO. Still looking for the right formula but SER has definitely helped. Just gonna keep plugging away
at the end of the day it's ALL about choices......live an existence where you work based upon your own terms in a country that is blessed with great weather & a low cost of living, or freeze your nuts off, mortgaged to the hilt just working for the UK Government!!....I rest my case
