How old are you all?

(Sven may wish to delete this if he doesn't agree with it or if has been done before).. I was speaking with an SEO acquaintance on Skype for the first time earlier and realized how 'young' they were - it hadn't crossed my mind before, it turns out there were 16. It got me thinking. How old are you all here? And is SEO your full time job? I assume it's a varied mix but let's find out! If you don't want to answer then it's fine. I'll get the ball rolling - I'm 26 and work part-time in SEO.

  • I'm 34 .  SEO is my full time Income for the past 6 Years.
  • 32. I helped make SEO a full time for others, but not myself. After avoiding vps, dedicated servers, and softwares, I recently made the plunge and regret not doing it sooner.

So much time and money wasted.

I was born in South Africa on the 8th month of the same year that England Defeated West Germany to Win The  FIFA World Cup, that makes me one of the oldest farts around here.
Now living in Thailand the land of beer, porn, government coup's and sexy girls where Win 8 is the price of a bar fine.....

  • hehe same here mid 30 and dipl. inf as sven ;) but then some bad things happend...so i had to find another way to make money on my own..
  • I'm in my thirties and like LeeG started off with a ZX81 and Dragon32 (the only Welsh computer?), then a Spectrum 128k, taught myself BASIC, then went on to the Amiga and taught myself AMOS, then finally graduated to the PC and have taught myself a number of languages. Have been working in the web industry since 1999, and have been fully self-supported via my web ventures since 2005. Wrote my first guestbook/shoutbox spammer in around 2002 and have never looked back - automation rules!

  • Wow I feel so shy because I'm quite younger than many of you guys here (>20). But I got to salute everyone here trying to get rid off their sweaty 9 to 5 job. When I was young (and still am lol) I decided in the very first place only that I won't be doing an IRL job.

Many of the big entrepreneurs like Pat Flynn, Spencer Haws and such have quit their job or were let go and today are glad that it happened. Definitely you guys are not late and I wish everyone success here.

I had no choice in changing job

An idiot driving a lorry caused my carer change

There I was, sat stationary at a pedestrian crossing at Cleopatras Needle in London in my van, when a lorry driving too close, used me to stop

He also head butted the rear doors of the van, he was too thick to use a door to exit his vehicle and used his window screen

My carer as a refrigeration engineer, ended there and then

Weakened my back in the shunt and ended up having more time off work with back pain, than at work earning a wage. I became unemployable in the industry

I had a similar thing to @leeg... I worked in construction but had an accident and broke my arm in multiple places. Couldn't work for over a year, so had to find something else to do while recovering... and i've never worked for anyone else since then.

Sometimes we all need to pushed, best thing that ever happened to me!
