    Yes, either use tiered mode, yourls as tier 1 and php and yourls as tier 2. Or. You can just select yourls.

    There the engines which 301 redirector uses to build the 301's. The reason we put that in is because the php engine has problems with web 2.0's.

    If you do not update by then its fine. Just log in and click check updates.
