GSA not using all available memory?

silverbulletsilverbullet
Ok so I'm a little new to this so here I go:

I am running GSA SER on my desktop PC

Sepcs:
Windows 7
Intel i7 core CPU 870@2.93GHz
2.96 Usable RAM
32 Bit Operating System

I've been running SER with 1 project, 15 threads and 10 proxies for a few days now. However, I am constantly have the "Out Of Memory Error" when the program hits around 200-250 MB of Memory Usage. Why is the program not using all of the ram available on this computer? Is there a way to allow SER to take up more RAM?

200mb is really not the limit. But you can give it more memory when modifying the boot.ini and add the /3GB parameter or something alike.

Humm how do I do that?

Ok, I've done that. But now it will give the error when SER has used around 350mb of memory. Is there no other way to fix this?

Than it's something else. When do you get this error? At a relatively short time running or random?

It will usually give the "out of memory" message around 2-3h when it reaches around 350 memory now. Sometimes instead of giving the message all the threads will just stop running.

I did what Sven mention here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=9583842&linkID=9240697

Is that what you are recommending?

    So anything?
  • silverbulletsilverbullet
@sven Is there any other thing that I can try? Because it is still happening.

Sorry Im clueless. On a 64bit system no changes are required. On a 32bit the one @rudy_som mentioned.
  • I am on W7 x64 and have simmilar problem. When GSA SER use ~440MB of memory I recive Popup that there is no more memory  or something and if i want to stop the projects.
I was runing only 1 or 2 projects. If i restart SER than it is fine unitl....
I have 12GB of RAM so i do not think memory is an issue.
