Pligg Upvoting

edited November 2012 in Feature Requests
I would like to be able to optionally vote up our pligg bookmarks with all registered accounts for each site. If I have run 50 projects on the same pligg sites and have 50 accounts available I'd like my other accounts to vote up my pligg bookmark. This is an invaluable feature as with enough upvotes we can get our bookmark onto the homepage of the site which (sometimes) has some decent PR and linkjuice. For instance right now it takes at least 23 votes to get to the homepage of this PR2 pligg site: http://jumbobookmarks.com/

Agreed! I have been thinking that this would be really useful. OR we could get GSA to create a set of 50 seperate accounts, and then have the option to use these accounts to vote up sites. This applies to other social bookmarking sites too.

After all - we should be thinking of the user. A single bookmark with 1 vote is nowhere near as valuable as one with 50 votes.
  • What would be amazing is if somehow Sven could mastermind a way for all GSA SER users to tap into each other's bookmark lists/URLs -- maybe via each user's GSA install uploading their verified URL bookmark list to Sven's server where OPTIN ONLY users have a background process that does UPVOTING from each of our GSA SER installs -- which, if you think about it, would be killer.  :D

Imagine the damage that could be done by such a thing (and the corner that GSA SER would have on the market).

What about if we have the option to create x number of profiles and save these to GSA somehow.

THEN option, when creating a new SB, to use existing (saved profiles) and vote up by x votes...So then it's a submission and a quick push to the top of the site, and some good traffic and homepage PR.

Looks like a pretty nice idea, but I doubt that all of this can be done with SER alone. But on the other hand I thought that often times and Sven proved me wrong, haha.

However, I think that this could be "too much" to be handled by SER itself. I think it would be better if a "more specialised" tool will be created which can handle such tasks better. This could be a tool for creating and managing accounts on high authority/tier 1 sites and post new blog articles with a scheduled order for instance.
  • We'll see what Sven says, but I would be happy to pay for a separate tool for this if that was required. Right now I use NEO Bookmarks to accomplish this but it's a paid service and while the credits are reasonably priced, it is not as cheap as it would be if we had our own tool for the task. Licorne AIO also recently added this upvoting feature to their software but it is VERY buggy and doesn't get the job done. So here's to hoping Sven can pull something off as it's an awesome tactic.

Ozz, I'm not entirely sure what you are talking about regarding a separate tool for "posting blog articles"... are we still talking about voting up bookmarks here or do you mean a more comprehensive "different" tool?

I'm happy to pay extra for this tool....to vote up bookmarks. I just don't see value in all these 1 vote bookmarks that get created. Surely with a list of approved accounts (created by GSA) it can then go in and vote up? Maybe as an addon option, like SEO indexer is?

sorry, don't wanted to confuse anyone or getting off topic. what i meant is that your suggestion could be much better handled with a tool which is able to manage your accounts in a better way.
this could be to get votes on your SBs like you requested or post to one of your blogs or tweeting something to twitter, etc.

I see SER more like an account creator but not as an account manager/administrator.
  • Okay, I see what you meant. Well I have tools for those other tasks... I just need a good Bookmark voter... preferably integrated with GSA so I don't have to manually add jobs to it everyday.
  • Yeah, I think its a very good idea. Don't get me wrong with that.

up voting could be done with GSA SER but on a limited was when adding some things in the script itself. It would vote it's own listings up (one time). Thats of course not really useful and not enough. So a nother program is needed for that.

Right now I have no time left for this but I bookmark this thread to maybe create something when im bored ;)

Heh, okay Sven, sounds good. I don't suppose you get bored too often but I would love to see such a tool if you could bang one out one day. For now, I'll stick with buying credits at NEO. Thanks for entertaining the idea and it's good to know you've bookmarked it. Cheers!

I suppose the challenge now is...how do we get Sven to get bored with so much on... ;-)
  • Just got here googling "Pligg Upvoting". Lincorne AIO have a pligg upvoter and Bookmark Demon have Reddit and PHPDug upvoter . Any social voting integrated in GSA will be much appreciated. So Sven please consider getting bored asap.

How can we get Sven to get bored???

I have a custom bot for this but it doesn't always work.  I would love for this to be included as well.
