Running GSA on a Dedicated Server

    @Brumnick

    I just ran wireshark on my server to monitor it for 10 minutes, and it says it's sending and receiving just below 2k packets per second. I'm just running 4 projects where two of them are in the process of verifying, but all 700 threads has been used all the time while monitoring through wireshark. Seems like something else is going on if you are in fact sending and receiving such a large amount of packets every second.
  • uuum very strange.  I use copy.com to sync files between servers (i.e. raw lists to import) and am, wondering if that has anything to do with it.  I have disabled that and will contact them again to see if that has altered the numbers. Fingers crossed...
  • @Brumnick I have a Volumedrive server and getting the same BS. I thought my proxies were leaking or something, they keep on saying DDOS attacks, I explained what I was using on the server and said there was no way of that happening. I can't see my IP getting 4 DDOS attacks in less than a week!! Needless to say I'm cancelling. I honestly don't think it's SER's fault and I stopped using Scrapebox on it over a week ago.

    They said they were going to keep a close eye on my server....

    @ims How much are you paying for those 8GB? On their website it is 130$. https://www.solidseovps.com/windowsvps.php

    You call that great price? You can easily buy 2-3 dedis with that greedy unreasonable rate.

    @Pratik You said that you are old customer. How much do you pay and what are your specs?
  • @SpecialOne, I must agree that I've never been able to understand why people go for these expensive vps when you can get a dedicated server with a lot more power for the same price. It's not like you're going to be hosting websites which will loose you money if it's offline for half an hour. It's just SER so there's no need to pay 3 times as much just to have a little more uptime if you're even going to get that.

    if you are looking for good VPS then check these guys out :

    ~$31 USD for 4 GB VPS with 2 CPU cores running on i7 CPU at 3.7 GHz.
    Actually price is even lower if you are not in EU, you get VAT off.

    Site is written in German, but you can contact them via email and owner of the company will get your account up and running, he is really kind person especially comparing to some other providers who are advertising here.

    I'm using 4 GB server and i am very satisfied, my best LpM with this server is 350 LpM using very quality list where 90% of links are getting posted in no time, mostly comments and trackbacks. Usual LpM with various link building ( but still on lists, i'm not using search function with GSA as it is waste of time, better use gscraper ) is between 90 and 150, unbeatable for this price.

    @fakenickahl @JudderMan

    Haven't been able to login again for the past 12 hrs+ and I finally get this reply from them;

    "I did the math on your IPS.

    Vl171 **.**.**.*** Vl204 **.**.**.*** 0000 0000 15M
    Vl171 **.**.**.*** Vl204 **.**.**.*** 00 0000 0000 14M
    Vl171 **.**.**.*** Vl204 **.**.**.*** 00 0000 0000 13M
    Vl204 **.**.**.*** Vl171 **.**.**.*** 00 0000 0000 7800K
    Vl204 **.**.**.*** Vl171 **.**.**.*** 00 0000 0000 7429K
    Vl204 **.**.**.*** Vl171 **.**.**.*** 00 0000 0000 2827K
    Vl204 **.**.**.*** Vl171  **.**.**.*** 00 0000 0000 2747K
    Vl204 142.0.44.28 Vl171 162.248.102.237 00 0000 0000 2667K

    The top three are roughly 250,000 PPS as top talkers is shown in 60 second intervals.

    The bottom three, roughly 50,000 PPS.

    Taking all of these, your roughly at 1.2 million PPS."

    Unfortunately I have no idea what any of that means!

    Have asked for their suggestions, seeing as I followed them yesterday and still have the same problem but they don't seem to be answering support questions as quick now....
    :)]  :-t  :-q

    haha, just got this back "I don't have any suggestions, no."  Least they are honest.
  • Yeah I got sent something similar. I was at 1million packets as well. Not sure what the answer is, surely if they experience problems another server provider will as well....tempted to stick with them for another month and see how it pans out. I'm planning on buying another few servers but can't decide yet. Better the devil you know and all that.

    I am running GSA with Bulletproofvps.com very good, no problems so far

    Edit: This user was banned as he did self promotion for his VPS service. Should tell enough about that crap VPS.

  • Volumedrive sucks ass. I paid for a server which went live after I disputed a month later... It was hardly live for few hours.. Later i never got my server live.. God bless the credit card companies :D
  • I quit Volumedrive last month...they weren't happy. I told them that they need to look after customer, give them the exact server that the customer bought, not be shitty with customers, and be f**king quicker at setting up customers or the whole business will go under.

    I have three dedis now and very happy not with Volumedrive and it really is their loss. They could have had $300+pm from me, but they run their business like some angry teenager in their bedroom.

    Well my 2 cents, I've been using Host-Stage VPS for a while now (Level 2) and never had any issues it's running 24/7 and the connection is great even from the Philippines where I'm currently passing though  ;)
