Been slapped...I think?

Hi all. On Saturday 2 (of 5) of my sites in the same niche were basically killed off. Even those pages that I haven't built links to. It seems site-wide. I've seen major re-shuffle of my niche in the SERPS, but there is nothing on any SEO forums about it. Some pages have survived and 2 of my sites are barely any different. Anyone else noticed something similar? It's not payday loan or finance etc. What can cause this? I didn't build many links to homepage at all, normally 5-10% only. http://i.imgur.com/qijb8Fw.jpg

Anyone know if there is a block user function on this forum? Thanks @idreesfarooq, couldn't find anything when I searched, that explains it. Oh well. At least it was after Christmas.

What's "interesting" is that my original site I started over a year ago has now regained about 20% of its earlier ranks, that it lost in May 2013.

@spunko2010 - I've not had any drops, or heard of any updates... Unless it just hasn't caught up with my sites yet.

Hi @gooner, were you affected at all by Penguin 2.1? Because I wasn't. I wonder if there's different criteria. Now that I've spent a little more time Googling around, there are too many people saying something is changing for it to be coincidence. Also a lot of my archive pages are ranking now, bizarrely - again reported by others. See here: http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4634995-2-30.htm
  • What was your anchor text profile like?

@baldonius normally went for 30% generic 35% naked, 15% secondary (about 10 KWs). I've cloned one of the sites to a new domain and will do 50% naked.
  • Well there you go then. You need a much more spread out anchor text profile. 2013's Google algorithm changes focused on this. Here's a link to a YouTube tutorial I did on this subject: [Other peeps, let me know if I got anything wrong in this tutorial so I can put correction annotations on the video]

I'm not so sure. I've got some KW density results at over 10% still sitting at number 2.

@spunko2010 - I was affected by penguin 2.1 - I've got so many sites that usually at least 1 is affected by any update. It could be different criteria. Searching around now to see if i can find any more news.

    @baldonius

You have sites surviving through all of these updates using GSA and these anchor text ratios?

@spunko2010 do you not believe in karma?

Any ordinary person with the observational skills of a chimp could clearly see that you were indeed lying to yourself and others, including me about earning 6 figures a month, you made a typo and instead of simply stepping up, you decided to google around.

Why I make this assumption now? well, any living creature on this planet who earns 6 figures a month, in a short time frame which would also mean you have no commitments that depend on this money and judging by some of the questions I've seen you ask around this forum, I'd say you probably have little less than a year of SEO experience.. Would simply just rebuild their sites, instead of complaining about 2/8 sites falling.

Sorry mate, I hope you do find that block user button somewhere because you don't deserve help from people you lie to, point blank, you've lost my credibility.

@Tim89 I'm rebuilding my slapped sites. I didn't understand the rest of your post, but you sound so angry and bitter. Nobody else here has found the need to keep referring to my earlier post on earnings, as I said before if you don't believe me then what do I care? Change the record, it's tedious.
  • @donaldbeck My rankings generally rise at each update.

@spunko2010 well stop whining about your fallen sites and move on.

I'm in no way being bitter lol, I make a very comfortable living and I always try to encourage others as best I can.

What I dislike is dishonest people, especially within a forum like this, there is no reason to over exaggerate earnings, to compensate for your lack of knowledge which is obviously evident from the questions you ask.
