@2take2 any chance you can share the trick or the post URL where you mentioned the trick this would be a life saver for me at moment especially on one client
@jd_pmg - The basics of it was to build 1,000 mixed links right off that the bat. Don't send them to any indexing service. That should be enough to get some kind of ranking, not a page one but just showing something in the serps.
Not sure if @2take2 can give you any more tips there?
As @gooner says, It's no big mystery, and not really very scientific, just spam the [new] domain with a few thousand mixed links in one short sharp blast.
I personally wouldn't do it on a clients site though, just in case.
Haha @gooner, yea, I guess if it's a new site, and it's not registered on their dream domain name, then it doesn't really matter. - 'WP Clone' is your friend!
@jd_pmg - I find my sites stick on page 2 or like rank 8 - 10 ALOT if i use SER only.
So in that case i usually go for more web 2.0s (unless i got the full compliment of 120 already) and especially the high PR links if you got your own blog network or maybe rent some nice links.
@gooner yeah I am finding them stick to page 2 as well,
I am going to probably invest in RankWyz and get some manual accounts set up via your fiverr guy and try and build a few hundred web 2.0's quickly and set the affifiliate settings on them like we discussed before from GSA.
Do you find your 120 web 2.0s usually strong enough to rank for local keywords?
And say you had hit your limit of one client URL per web2.0 would you still add new content to the web 2.0 but not add in any more links?
Sorry more and more questions come to me as I read more and more about web 2.0's haha
@jd_pmg - That's ok mate, it's good to talk about tactics - Gives me ideas too.
I should probably keep adding articles to the web 2.0's, with no links as you said. But honestly i'm pretty lazy haha and i don't tend to look at them again until i need them.
I'm also thinking of using Rankwyz, just haven't gotten around to it yet. But that will help the process a lot.
I think i could rank most local keywords with only the web 2.0's as tier 1. I've never tried but it should be possible, a lot of people do it that way.
I find if you build out the site with a good few pages, they rank really quickly. Also helps if you make it look like a "real" business, link to the client's Google+ Local page or have a Google map, plus a real phone number and address etc on site.
@gooner cool I think Rankwyz will be worth the investment once the learning curve is made.
Thanks for the tip on google maps that is a good tip.
What is your general link building plan for local keywords? Would you just blast it with GSA or do you find there is just no need for 120 level of web 2.0's?
I start with a few hundred or maybe a thousand links SER and then set it to 30 submitted per day and wait a week or so. While i'm waiting i build a few web 2.0's, maybe 10. Check rankings at end of month. Then add a tier 2 in SER and build maybe 10 more web 2.0's Check rankings at end of month. Build another 10 web 2.0's Check rankings at end of month - By now is month 3. At this point i might be doing ok, if so leave it as it. If not, add high PR links, more web 2.0's, maybe a tier 3 in SER etc.
That's roughly it but i'm not very strict with it. I just do whatever i think best at the time.
@gooner you may have already mentioned it but I didnt see it, for your manual web2.0s you are building, are you also crating fresh unique content each time, or still just scraping and/or spun articles? Would seem like a lot of content to have all these web 2.0s and fresh content after a few months.
@gooner My strategy has always been to try GSA with high PR and quality settings creating a silo effect and then when/if results come use the cash generated from the rankings to then solidify those rankings by creating niche specific high PR sites by buying expiring domains and putting new fresh relevant content on them.
I find this quite well for affiliate sites, but then I did this with a clients site and got completely walked all over when they went to another SEO company who basicially did a link anlaysis of my site found out which site I had built the niche relevant link on and then spammed my site like mental like 100K links a day to plummet there rankings and went and offered the service at half the price. So I want some sort of variety of strategy where maybe I can get away from those idiots. Maybe there just once in a blue moon but seriously stuffed my income up as they were a big client.
Is there any way that you know how to block people being able to do link analysis on my own private blogs that i create? Would love to know your thoughts on @tsaimllc comment as well about new content or spun
@jd_pmg - Shit that is terrible, sorry to hear that mate.
I don't know of any way to protect yourself, the only thing i have in my favour is that very few SEO companies could price match me, none in the UK i would think and i have a few good lead gen sites.
But i do have a few massive clients who could cut my income in half if they all left me, so yea i would be interested to know how to protect myself a bit more.
On the other hand, i've generated a few clients from the High PR blog network. Companies have contacted me asking to buy links and i ended up selling them SEO services too. Not hard to do if the sites you are linking to on your network are on page one in the prospective client's niche.
Goner: do you spam your money site directly, or is everything through a Web 2.0? I have an authority site with about 20 pages to rank. How would you set up your web 2.0s?
@gooner did some research into protecting blog networks last night. Seems best way to do it is different hosts if possible and using a tool called spyder spanker which stops loads of bots including ones that link anlaysis companies can use.

Although some already have page one rankings what would you suggest to push nearer the top?

If you go back through this thread i describe more or less everything i do.
Hope it helps.
