**Microblogging Platforms (like Twitter)**

The latest project I've been working on are microblogging platforms like twitter (or status.net). Most of those sites are looking crappy at first glance but I don't want to use them as a "one link only" site in the future.
The idea is to grab all sorts of high value article- and blog-links and tweet them with the help of a shortener like bit.ly to those microblog accounts. Bit.ly could be implemented for that to GSA (i think): http://dev.bitly.com/best_practices.html. This should help to strengthen your Tier2 Web20 and article posts and also keep your accounts more natural. It would be awesome imo if something like that is possible some day.

This are the microblogs that I've coded so far and working to some point:

*added in v4.48*
adocu.com.ini |PR3 NF - profile doesn't work. extra submission works. this is a 1 word only platform (lol!!). no captcha, instant registration
Benito.com.ini |PR5 DF - profile + extra sub are working. verification of the extra sub don't work atm
cirip.ro.ini |PR5 DF - hotmail email seemed to be banned. i always get an error message when try to log in to this site
heello.com.ini |PR5 DF - profile works, extra sub not. sometimes you get a captcha i couldn't handle (--> example in the script)

*added in v4.49*
meemi.com.ini |PR4 NF - should be working fine. script could be improved with anchor text links though
plerb.com.ini |PR4 DF - hotmail accounts will not be accepted. couldn't get the captcha to work (--> example in the script)
Plurk.com.ini |PR7 NF - registration works, submission and verification not

added in v4.50*
she.is.ini |PR1 DF - profile is working, extra sub not. i think that not all email adresses are accepted at this site

*down*

Qaiku.com.ini |PR5 DF - profile and extra sub are working, but not the verification of the extra-sub. this engine could also be used for articles and embedded video submission

Further sites I know of:
http://bloggy.se/ (swedish version of cuzo.com) DOWN ATM
http://cuzo.com (english version of bloggy.se) DOWN ATM
http://weibo.com/ PR8 chinese
http://www.blip.pl/ PR6 polish (too complicated)
http://www.meetme.com/ PR4 (too complicated)
*http://www.yookos.com/login.jspa (already worked on that but it could be better used as Web20 blog. coming soon)

@Sven: I don't know if you want to seperate those engines for a new platform. I created a new field for micro messages because my thinking is that they should be easier to verify in case profile and micro messages are on the same page. I also used the spin text of the status.net engine for my tests. In case you want to seperate them you might want to use this icon for the platform: http://www.mediafire.com/?qeucbwm132ubgdn

  • Ozz..thats fantastic..it will really help to index web2 sites..

for statusnet sites..is it possible to do submission as well? I think atm GSA only creates profiles there..any plans to add 'submission' to them as well?
  • status.net also submits a micro message since v4.34

    You're a machine!
  • I think Ozz must really be a group of people posting under one user id...either that or he has figured out how to clone himself.

I wish I could get as much done as he seems to!

    Ozz = Mini Sven Clone

    Awesome work man!

@Ozz if I understood you right you want them to post like the social bookmark platforms? If so you can set ....

    [SETUP]

    posted domain check=2

This will ignore project settings and post to the site again with different URLs. However what is left here is some kind of scheduler to post like X URLs in Y minutes to not post like all URLs at once. Am I right?

yes, it won't be usefull to blast all accounts with all kind of links. a scheduler + engine filter (only web20 + good article sites for example) would be awesome.

didn't know of "posted domain check=2" so far. thanks for the hint.

Edit: bit.ly is doable, right? I've noticed that in a magic submitter video
  • SvenSven www.GSA-Online.de
    yep thats all possible
  • Sven, can you insert this microblog to the next GSA update...???

I don't know how to use the .ini file...
  • SvenSven www.GSA-Online.de
I have to review them first and make corrections if there are any ;) But yes as soon as that is done they get added.
  • I can assure you there is a lot to improve and correct, lol

However, cuzo.com is up again and we can make use of an api:

Is this something we can make use of for faster submission?

I will upload a script for cuzo (and bloggy.se) later as I first need to test them.
  • Ozz deserves a prize!
and yes some guide on using .inis would be great
  • I don't think there is need for an *.ini guide because all of you should just wait a few more days until Sven has opitimised and fixed all scripts. Bit.ly support isn't even added to those scripts yet. You will get them soon enough.

In case you want to try out one script just for fun than visit this link:

Create a new text file with an editor and copy/paste all lines from pastie.org to your text file. Save and rename the file to "adocu.com.ini" and copy that file to your engine folder (.../program files ../GSA search engine ranker/engines). The engine should now be available in your project.

And as I've written the last sentence I noticed that I've written an ini-guide ;)
