Berman Hosting and SER. Which OS should I opt for?

edited April 2013 in Need Help
I'd like to get a VPS from Berman to run SER but I see they offer a choice of 9 different Operating Systems. Can anyone here suggest which would be the best one to opt for?

CentOS
Ubuntu
Debian
Fedora
Suse
Windows XP Professional
Windows Server 2003
Windows Server 2008
Windows 7 Ultimate

  • I went with windows 2008 - @Ozz answers your question here: https://forum.gsa-online.de/discussion/2439/berman-hosting-vps#Item_4
  • Thanks gtsurfs. Just wondering if you have encountered any performance issues with windows 2008? I currently run 2008 on another vps with a different seo program and am forever having to restart it due to it grinding to a halt. What's more, the restart times tend to be extremely slow, and I have been unable to get the OS to update automatically. I'm looking to avoid any similar problems with the new server. Would any others here care to share their experience regarding running SER and any of the aforementioned OS's?
  • @radikal - I've encountered performance issues but I'm not sure I can attribute them to the OS. I'm testing things now so I'll let you know.
