I really love the new proxie feature added in the latest update.
I was wondering if any of the Guru's out there can suggest the best options.

I currentely use only 100 private proxies - but i understand PR check is a real proxie killer - so should i go back to also using public proxiesa and selectively use the Private ones.

I wouldn't want public on my linkbuilding, so I turned it off for submitted and verify.

I might also turn it off for search. I'm testing a little bit to see the speed differences.

I definitely don't want to burn out my private proxies on PR checking, so I might go just public on that one.

    Thanks @Ron for the suggestions

    So in summary:

    Search Engine : Public
    Submissions: Private
    PR Checking : Public
    Verification : Private

Basically, but I want others to chime in. That is just my initial impression.

I think those options make the most sense, what is debatable i guess is the time between and the time out settings
  • I am thinking of disabling proxies for Verification.
    What do you guys think?
  • royalmiceroyalmice WEBSITE: ---> https://asiavirtualsolutions.com | SKYPE:---> asiavirtualsolutions
@topics -- That would make sense, because why would you need to use a proxy for verification as it might be in anyway different from the one used for signing up.

would be nice to hear what others thoughts are

how do you find the public proxies? use GSA or other software?

if using GSA whar the best settings for finding and testing the public proxies?

@Unbit -- lets stay on topic here my friend - we are discussing the new proxy feature and what best setings are. There are plenty other threats on proxies and how to find them

i can't imagine that public proxies are good for anything if you have private proxies at hand.

public proxies are slow, unstable and are a recipe for desaster, imo.
i suppose many PR? for PR test and many 000/000 results for searching because the proxy in use is dead already.

i didn't test it so far so my assumptions might be wrong.

to not use any proxies for verification seems not that a bad idea though.

@ozz i think using public proxies for non essential stuff like pr checking will conserve the private proxies so they dont burn up and get banned.

On the other hand i am not talking from experience as i have 100 private proxies and after running them on both Ultimate Demon ( 2 installs ) and GSA SER (1 install) + Kontent Machine === 99 of the proxies are still working fineafter 2 weeks of runing 24/7. That makes me think the proxy ban stuff is more applicable to public proxies.

I am starting to think maybe i just use it like this:

    Search Engine : Private
    Submissions: Private
    PR Checking : Public
    Verification : None

  • Why use public proxies for PR checking?

i need to test this but it just doesn't make sense to me to use proxies that are on the brink of death for any tasks.
the already dead proxies will give you lots PR? i suppose, the working public proxies will slow down your submission rate by presumely ~1 second (or more) on average per PR check.

in conclusion you will not only slow down your submission speed but also filter out lots of possible targets by filtering out the PR?s.

Ozz -- so what are you saying dont do any PR filtering  ?
  • LeeGLeeG Eating your first bourne
Any use of public proxies and you need your head examined to see what has replaced your missing brain
  • yes. pr filter with gsa is ressource waste and proxy banner.

Ok so we are making progress - this is where we are:

    Search Engine : Private
    Submissions: Private
PR Checking : Dont use this 8hit
    Verification : None
  • LeeGLeeG Eating your first bourne

    Pr filter with ser

use public proxies = proxies will either be dead or banned

use private proxies = if they are banned, too many people sharing them and doing similar. Change your proxy provider

@royalmice - I understand what you are saying, but probably the least encumbering task out of all of these is verification. I think your proxies are great for that.

I turned off public proxies on everything last night after really thinking about it. It really is like @Ozz and @LeeG say - they are crap. And then you start losing opportunities to find and create new links.

I have used just semi private proxies from the beginning, and have never had an issue finding and creating links.

  • Don't understand the problem here. Use private proxies for everything. I'm hammering the living daylights out of mine 24/7 and not had any banned yet. That's what I'm paying buyproxies for! PUBLIC PROXIES ARE SHITE
  • LeeGLeeG Eating your first bourne

Its simple why they want to use public proxies.

So like all bad workmen, it gives them another reason to blame the tools and not be accountable

Then they can demand more bloat features to slow down ser

I use private proxies for everything, I have 50 and scrape with SB (15 threads) and use them in GSA with a 10 second delay.

On the "public proxy" side...I use ProxyGo's service and he provides public proxies twice a day M-F.  He usually will give about 1000 public proxies and 950 are dead within 4 hours.

Public proxies are good only for mass scraping because they die so quickly.  I use his lists when they come in, run 75 threads in SB until the die then import that list to GSA.
  • So your 50 privates are no good you have to use crappy public aswell?
  • Like buying a porsche and cycling to town on your sister's pink girly bike?

  • BrandonBrandon Reputation Management Pro
50 isn't enough for the amount of harvesting that I do. I import about 100k unique domains per day, my 50 proxies can't handle that much and instead of buying more I run two instances of SB and use both private and public.

Nobody would complain about a $90,000 porsche, but I'm happy with my used porsche and $100 bike :)
