FAILED Lists - What Does It Include

I would like to know what makes it into the "Failed Lists"?

1) Does an unidentified platform make it in?
2) What about an identified, but unable to find login page?
3) What about submitted, but not verified?
4) What about a verified, that becomes unverified?

Option 3 & 4 would be the most useful! I think it might be this but not sure, because if it's the first two, then I don't see the value at all in a Failed List.

Identified but no successful/unknown status after registration/login/submission

@sven - would it be possible to have a list saved that tracks the submitted, but that did not make it to verified or verified that no longer remain verified and call it "Failed Submissions"?

This would be the most useful list..since it allows us to improve our verified rate by allowing us to see why sites didn't verify. These would be sites that we know SER can post to, and we can just focus on getting it from submitted to verified?

Whereas, the current failed list doesn't add too much value, since it might have got onto list for too many reasons.

Well take the submission successful list and remove all URLs from the verified list and you got what you want.

How do I easily do that? What's the best way to compare two lists?

PsPad can do it, I bet that Notepad++ can also.

i don't know how to exactly do it with notepad++, but you can do it with scrapebox.

if i've understood you correctly than do as follow:
    1. import veryfied list first to scrape box
    2. import url list -> select the url list to compare

IIRC than the list that is left are the "new" URLs only. but double check this as i'm not 100% sure about this.

If you are comparing URL's, use scrapebox. It has a compare function in the "Import URL List" submenu.

  • Hi guys. I know this isn't purely related to the thread but thought ask in case anyone knows. I have tried to do this with scrapebox, notepad++, pspad and winmerge but nothing can do it so far or there is functionality I am missing.

    I have two lists.
List 1 has some items that also appear in List 2.
    List 2 has unique items.
I want to pull the just unique items from List 2 only.

All the programs compare and then will export the difference in both which basically means the whole kit merged.

    Any ideas anyone?

Are you talking about URL's, or are you talking about text?

In scrapebox, you would put list 1 into scrapebox. You would then compare list2. It will subtract list 2 from list 1, and you will be left with unique items.

If you are talking about text, I have no idea.

  • this little tool gives all the different options;

@Brumnick - Nice! That could be what @nicerice was looking for. I just tried it and it works for text. I just don't know how big a list it can handle.
  • Thanks @Brumnick... checking it out.

Thanks to @ron for the alert.
  • Perfect... that worked fine. Thanks guys.

Curiously I had bookmarked this same site in the past for other things similar but had forgot about it.
