GSA SER repeating non responding periods - any suggestions what is causing this

all day suffering problems with GSA -SER

first i think it is my CB setting as i recently started using Spamvilla
then i notice my vps is taking a lot of CPU and memory, more then normal - only peaks

and now i see what really is going on GSA -SER  is everytime "non responding" (instead of 'running")
what happens in the task manager view is that a second GSA SER application (on my name) is mentioned it pos up
and both GSA - SER's are then for some time on 'non responding
so how come there are suddenly - for a moment - 2 GSA SER running
then the warning comes up - about not responding
- sometimes it goes automatic to running again, it can not find solutions, and sometimes it just abort and i have to restart manully.

my normal 500 threads jumps around and even drop below 100, never had this problem, i could easily run 500 threads stable
if i set at 100 threads it is still not stable and does not reach 100
=> is it too many threads?

I run about 10 to 12 projects, as i also do
=> is it too many projects?

I have merged some project and deleted the merged ones, just for a better organisation, but it could be
=> is my folder too full and no capacity left? - how can i check ? (GSA-SER did not send me an warning, but yes there must be a lot in)

or is it the server?
GSA SER screens are not responding well / fast
but normally without the non responding peaks CPU Use and Memory are far below 30%
and there is still enough capacity on the disk too.

or are my settings incorrect ?
- i di not make any changes

or is it a bug ?
- i do not believe so, as since last update i did not had immediately his problems

any suggestions or advice

thx Harry

Do you use Spamvilla in Captcha Breaker? If so, delete it there and add it to SER.
