What is real use of public proxies ?

As many suggests that one should use private proxies only for best results and public proxies wont give us better performance, i would like to know whats the real purpose of having public proxy harvester in GSA SER ?

    @bangkoklad so, for Options -> Submissions -> Use proxies -> Search Engines i can only use public proxies ?

    You can use both public and private proxies.

    you can use both public and private. Some people want to keep the private ones unbanned so they use the public ones for the scrapping

    Private proxies burn very quickly,public ones(anoymous and google checked) are very cheap and can be used to get loads of search results w/o getting them banned.
