No GSA Products Will Update for Me - Setup is Corrupt Obtain a new copy of the Program

I have purchased copies of all GSA products, Ranker, Indexer, Captcha Breaker. All of them show an update is needed, but when I try to update them I get the same message repeatedly, that the copy is corrupt and I need to obtain a new copy.

I've tried turning off all my antivirus and malware programs. I've tried running them as an administrator, nothing. I did recently turn on UAC on my Windows & box to ask, but I am not getting any notification from the update process that I need to authorize anything.

What do I need to do to get the latest versions?

there are basically two causes of this error:

    1. Anti virus programs

This happens from time to time when certain bad anti virus programs
think it's a suspicious program you download. The whole setup is
downloaded and checked within the virus checker and then the last part
    is not written to disk.
When you try to start it, it has missing parts and results in this error.

All you can do now is trying to disable that anti virus program or
firewall shortly and start redownloading it. This usually helps. Maybe
also contact your virus checker support to update there definition files.

The setup is surely not infected at all. However feel free to check it
online on http://www.virustotal.com who check things against all known
    anti virus programs for free.

    2. Bad Network connection

Another issue can be your internet connection being too slow or some
other issue causing the browser to abort the download at a certain
point. Unfortunately this problem is not as easy to fix as noone can
tell for sure where the problem is. All I can guarantee is that our
webserver is usually not the cause. Maybe try downloading it with
    another browser.

I hope this helps a bit.
  • The only thing I want to ask you about is you talk about a browser. The downloads are occurring from the programs themselves. I open GSA for example and it tells me there is an update available. I click to update and the program downloads the update. I agree it could be internet connection failing. So is there another source I could try downloading these updates from outside of the program? Where I could use a browser with a download manager?

You can always download it manually from our homepage. Take the demo version and install it over the current one (no uninstall required).
