SER doesn't ping the links

On my project i have checked Send Verified Links to Indexer Services and in the global options i have checked Submit Backlink URLs to Blog Search Engines but i don't see in the log that SER is actually pinging the links.

Any idea why?

    The blog search engine pinging is only used for specific types of links. Not e.g. for articles, profiles and so on.

    I am submitting only to article engines. I guess that is way it doesn't ping the backlinks.

    Why is this done? What is wrong to ping backlinks from article engines?

    it's just not the type of links the sites will accept.
