    I use a company called Host Stage (servers are based in france though) for my VPS and they seem pretty reliable with good service and they don't seem too fussed about automating. - not looked into thier Dedis though.

    Just started using webhosting buzz for my hosting as they had a 50% deal on for unlimited shared for £38.94 +VAT (with a coupon code) for the first year, and so far so good. - I believe their servers are based in the UK, but you may need to select your location from the drop down on the home page?

    Edit, yeah see what you mean, seem quite pricey after the first month.

    gooner you may wanna talk to this guy over here, David Sunder - with JDR Hosting. He will hook you up a sweet deal, recurring monthly. He gave me a great deal on a VPS just now. They are in Eastern Europe, GSA SER etc friendly.
