How to reduce CPU usage?

Hey, I often have around 50 projects stored in GSA with about 10k keywords in each (simply duplicating the projects).
And I usually run 10 projects at a time...

My CPU usage is usually at 99% with just 99 threads.
Would it use less CPU if I only had like 100 keywords in each project or doesn't that have an impact at all?

Lowering your threads would lower your CPU usage.

What kind of computer are you running SER on?
  • I know, but I am looking for a way to lower my CPU usage without harming my LPM and threads.

Disabling the log slows the CPU down.
  • a VPS and the log is disabled
  • What your LPM usually is?

Try running projects through a scheduler instead if you're not currently. It helps a bit.
  • I disabled the log  it seem drop alot of cpu usage
  • Already have the log disabled
  • I run SER on a 1GB budget VPS costing £10 pm - because I'm cheap! Current LPM is about 35 with 100 threads. CPU usage goes up and down, but I am able to run SB along side it without any problems.. I have my projects run on a schedule, 10 every 30 minutes. It really helps, before I was only getting max 10 LPM. Not sure why it works, but it seems to get clogged up if you have loads of projects running at the same time..
