How does SER manage the verified list?

When a project uses URLs from the verified list and for whatever reason that URL can't be posted to anymore (registration closed, site down, whatever) does SE remove that URL from the verified list? If not, is there a way to use the failed list to weed out dead URLs in the verified list?

    Nothing is removed from your site lists except using "Remove Duplicate URLs/Domains". But an URL from the verified URL list is added tot he failed one but left in verified.
