Congrats on the LpM! I have gotten up to 89Lpm (for a whole day). Trying to break the 100 mark! The past few days I am doing over 100 most of the day, but it tails off at the end of the day when a lot of my projects are paused and SER starts verifying links. But I am happy! (Yesterday - 127K submits, 17K verified)
We are trying to figure out what works now...and more specifically...what works with SER now.
Have you been able to use GSA SER to rank for a niche? And if so, how did you use it, and how long did it take.
You have given two rambling answers that have not once mentioned the use of SER for your niches or anyone else's. For that matter, they did not even mention SER at all.
This forum is about the use of SER. If you want to expound on general SEO practices, maybe another forum would be more appropriate.
Or, if you would like, we would love to hear how you are using SER to rank for niches that you are in.
answer here does so because they are trying to help and should be thanked rather than castigated for doing so. Sounds like you got
out of the bed the wrong side today, not your usual helpful approach.
@eliquid
I fully understand the point you are making and yes some of us on the
forum are probably guilty of looking for a system or blueprint that will
do it all for us. But, those that have been in SEO for any time realise
as you pointed out that it always depends. Depends on your target site,
your niche, etc.
For me having a system/blueprint then helps us better understand how to
customize that to cover different niches, target sites etc. Its like having a manual to refer to but not religiously follow. It helps you better understand the logic behind the methods.
I've already taken away know your niche. Would you keep running with GSA SER until you hit page one? Then move into a top up mode or just keep running as was?
Anything else you can add would only help.
Thanks!
There's no right or wrong answer. You'll need to test and see what works for you when you get your site there.
e.g.
I have one site with 30+ terms ranking either 1st or 2nd and I do nothing other than add new content. Why? It's an easy niche to rank in as not many ppl know how to monetise the niche effectively and due to the nature of the site, it gets lots of likes, g+s, tweets etc
I have another site in a "How To" niche that I constantly build links to, but because of how competitive the niche is, I haven't yet been able to rank it higher than 3rd.
Fantastic as the guides from @ron, @ozz and others are, you've got to use them as an outline or a starting point and then develop your own strategies based on your niche and your site.
I am not saying I have the answers. Indeed, in my first post, I just added to the question that the OP posted.
I completely understand the necessity to do your homework and to understand your niche before building a site and just throwing a bunch of links at it. But, that does mean that there is NO value in seeing what has worked (or not worked) by doing certain things. Indeed, that is one way we learn the most - trial & error...failure & success.
While I can't speak for @KayKay, my purpose for being involved in this thread was to hear from people that have had success (or failures) from using SER. Unfortunately, it does not look like anyone is going to do that.
Again, my apologies to @eliquid for being argumentative. As @Mitch noted, that is not my usual "modus operandi". I am here to learn how to best use SER and I try to pass on some of what I have learned in case it might help someone else. I did not mean to belittle your "experience". What I was saying was that what worked 17 years ago (or even 2) may not work now.
I agree with you that SER is a tool, but it helps to know how to use the tool. If I want to build a building, I have to do a lot of study and "work" before I even start building (just like understanding your niche and building a website). But when it comes time to dig the foundation, I need to know how to operate a backhoe. SER is the backhoe...
If you, or anyone, have some experience you can share on how you used SER to help rank a website (or even if anyone used it in certain ways that caused "problems, that would be beneficial as well). And, of course, it would help to know how difficult a niche it is.
You have to maintain link building even when you get to the top. *Each day there will be link-loss*.
As soon as you start a negative deceleration of total links aimed at the website, you will lose your ranking. At least for anything competitive.
When you get to the top, you see if your most recent steady diet of spam will keep you there. If you start to slide, then you need to accelerate your link building to a new higher plateau - and keep it there.
So to sum it up: Whatever level of linkbuilding keeps you at the top is the correct answer.
