How Does Re-verify Work?

Yes. This is a very basics question.  :|
Firstly, does the Re-verifying that a project does when Active and set to do so different from setting the project to the Re-verify Mode, or different from opening Verified Links and Re-verifying in that popup window?

My second question is about Tiers and Re-verification. 
Do Tier projects, on Re-verify, check the link it's verifying and the Link URL as well as the URL, itself? 
SER has that data for the other project the Tier is linked to, so SER would know this.
Just wondering bc it affects how we should deal with older tier projects...

    ReVerify in "show Verified URLs" is performed the same as when the project is Active and re-verifying. 
    The only difference when re-verifying in project is, that it also checks if a the link on the backlink is still part of the project or main project.
    If not, it is also set as failed and removed. But since the backlink is still active, it uses the account, logs in and tries to place another link.

    So yes to your second question...this is done as well.

    @Sven, do the other projects also need to be running for this to happen? I am thinking. no.

    Well for a tier project it makes sense that there main project is run at some time so that it removes links that are no longer there. Then it can remove other links that are already leading to a dead end.

    OK; so as I understand, a project that has tiers, when run, will signal the lower tiers to remove Verified URLs that are pointing to nowhere.

    Verified links that are removed from the top-level project on Re-verification, when the project is running are noted,  and SER will then remove those, any and all Verified URLs, for any Tier  II projects with link anchors pointing to those dead Verified URL links in the highest-level project . 

    This only begins when you next run Tier II and Re-verify is set and SER gets to that task. Sven, as you've explained on here in the past, a project does not change any other project when it is run. 

    But one project can affect another project later when the second project runs!

    Then, once Tier II has cleared the links that no longer point anywhere, next time you run Tier III, SER will remove those Verified links pointing to defunct sites. And, so on..

    Is this quite it?
