More options for re verifying links scheduling

Its a very cool option just to have it at all, it really is. But could there be a bit more granularity. Such as the first re verification round could be as it currently is, after X minutes/days/hours...but then after that first past...

Especially if we set it at say, one full week, which should be plenty of time for a moderator (or crybaby member to report to a mod etc) to delete a post/link if they are ever going to see it and do so.

But after that it would be more about the site no longer existing due to the owner discontinuing the project, quit paying for hosting, etc and the site itself goes offline. Or they do a big yearly purge of stale accounts etc.

Just to avoid wasting resources building additional t2 links over the very long term. And to avoid resources reverifying way more often than required after that first re verification. (Maybe just the second option ability to set it every X days/months AFTER the first reverification?)

Anyone have any thoughts or feedback on this?

so you want an option that will not verify links that have been xyz days old?

I mean, @Sven instead of saying we're going to write utilities ourselves, again why not rely on GSA? :joy: I think users would pay Sven for a Re-verification add-on for SER (and other SEO programs or just lists!!)  that's a standalone lightweight utility.

Could you make a lightweight stand-alone re-verify utility that can even go though failed re-verification lists, with settable timetables, response code responses :P lol , different timeouts for different link types , prioritizing testing certain link types or date ranges, ,omit /skip based on date range and many other criteria, and more!

...but of course with the GSA flair for making even a simple utility a true Swiss Army knife, always? :joy: (I know that term has been applied elsewhere but SER "GSA" takes that cake for sure!)

I, for one, would gladly beta-test this! Or, buy if no testers ever needed! :P This sounds like a fun project to me!! lol But ofc, I know I sometimes overcomplicate things. :|

that option is already in there from what i can see unless im misunderstanding the current setup.  with the 'skip if older than x days' option.

id like just one more level.

ie reverify links the first time after X days like it currently is...then one more option to reverify links again after a different number of days.

    ideal example would be
verify links immediately initially automatically. option already exists

reverify links after X days. option already exists. maybe add 'for x number of times'

then after the above setting runs its course, those links are going to be really stable unless the domain itself doesnt renew hosting or they run an annual or rare manual automated spam/unused acct purge... have it switch to a different verification schedule of X days (thinking quaterly or yearly vs in days to save all the heavy resource waste from super frequent reverifications needed in the beginning)

  • Well,  maybe it's just me,  But I do Reverify my links as pretty often. Typically it's just show verified URL's  Then Verify, again.
and my options are initial verify,  Then verify again after 7 days,  Then just goes again every 7 days.   Then I run the above like once a month.  I skipped last month now it's taking 2 days to go through them all and still finding tons of Dead T1's.   a stand alone would be pretty awesome. :)

The more i can get GSA to just be posting,   Instead of verifying and other things, the better.

I know others will verify their links other ways,  I think i remember reading @sickseo verify's his links in a completely different tool as well.

i dont want to assume...are u using all contextuals for t1 links or are u talking about other engines as well? and if contextuals only...r u using public topic forum posts in there? and are u using at least decent content or just visibly obviously spun garbage? just trying to figure out why your losing so many t1's after such a long time has gone by...
    Thanked by 1Hunar
  • Thanks Sven So much!  can't wait to get in there and check it out.

Yeah I do Contextuals,  and I do The SEREngines.  Honestly,  I'm not sure why either.  I have Good Content for T1's Honestly, I think it was cause i was doing to many Account's/Posts  for my T1's.  Which i'm changing that as soon as it's done Getting rid of all the dead links.

too many posts per acct in too quick of a time? or to many total accts from the same ip no proxies? i could see either/both of those causing issues. and/or something flagging the same target domains being as obl with too much volume
  • No, Like in the section where you can post to the same site again,  I had that way to high.  So all the accounts were just getting deleted.  I was messing around with it,  and seeing what i could do.  was way to high.
