ability to add/use articles for blog/image comments and guestbooks

It would be awesome to have the article tab enabled to use with these engines so I can just use the %article% or  %article_summary% 
macros depending on max char length vs stuffing a big spun chunk in the field.

    You can edit the engines and change all %Blog_Comment% with %article%, %blog_title% with %article_title% change [Blog_Comment] with [Article] and [blog_title] with [Article_Title]

    Just copy this to your General Blogs for example:

    appreciate the tip and trying to help, but that pastebin is a 403 error. so your saying if i edit the actual engines it will pop up the article tab? again, appreciate your brainstorming, i like it, but i dont wanna go messing with svens code and have something break on new updates etc..

    there are plenty of pastbin alternatives, use one of them.

    @Sven would it be possible to use the main article tab to pull data from and use macros vs inputting spintax in the comment and related fields?

    You can use %article% and %article_title% as macro even though the tab is not visible (since no article is required in engines).

    Im not sure what you mean...what would the macro be pulling from if the article tab is not visible so i cant add an actual article there?

    Well even if that tab is not visible, it might have data from previous changed in projects where you have added articles.

    meaning enable an engine that does require articles...input the articles while that tab is active....then disable that engine...or just unselect that link type in the options?

    yes enable and disable one article engine...not very elegant workaround but it is one

    great thinking thank you. ill try that. would be great to have this as a normal function though in a future update.
