Did the August–September Google Update Kill GSA Links? Anyone Else Stuck Since Week 5?

Hey everyone,

Looking for some insight from people actually running campaigns.

Since the late-August to end-of-September Google update, my rankings have completely stalled. Before the update I was getting decent traction with a clean GSA SER list (freshly scraped, low outbound spam, niche-matched where possible). Five weeks later… nothing. No movement. No drops. No gains. Just frozen.

So I’m wondering:

  • Did Google roll out something that devalues automated links again?

  • Are niche edits and authority guest posts the only thing moving the needle now?

  • Anyone running GSA with success since the update?

  • Did Google kill Tier 2/3 power-ups, or is it just slower indexing?

Trying to work out whether I should keep feeding GSA or pause it until people figure out what changed, because right now it seems like the campaigns are invisible.

Any data, opinions, or tests would be appreciated  especially from people actively using automation, not theory.

Indexing is slower for sure, but I'm using an indexing service for all my T1 links, so this is no longer an issue for me.

T2/3 links I leave to be naturally crawled, so yes, I've noticed things slower to index. I'm using contextuals and profiles only with the new ser nuke engines. Around 4000 domains. Any thing else no longer has an effect - especially redirect links if you're still using those.

T2/3 links are still doing their job - 4-6 weeks for improvements in rankings. I'm using chat gpt 4.0 - literally everywhere. In campaigns for links and on money sites  - makes a big difference. My backlinks rank, my web pages rank.

I'd probably start here and review your current content generation methods in your campaigns and on your money sites. That's the biggest change I've noticed this year - on page content and how google determine it's value.

Most of my sites already have authority ranging from DR50-DR70. Rankings tanked early this year on all of them. I changed the content and within weeks rankings came back. If your on page content is not good enough - you won't rank even if it's a high authority site.

    Using this: https://honestindexer.com/

Very effective service - using it on rankerx, gsa and pbn links. All have very high indexing rates.
