XEvil issues

Hi everyone,

I’m currently using Xevil as my main captcha app. I’m now trying to use the latest version of XAuth 3.0.3, but all my tools on my VPN, as well as Windows Defender, are flagging and deleting the file because it supposedly contains a trojan.

I also scanned the file on VirusTotal, and here are the results:

I contacted support, but they didn’t answer my question. They just told me to “disable Windows Defender.”

Has anyone else encountered the same issue?

  • You got the answer. Disable Windows Defender.

Ok, but how safe will it be for my VPS and my other apps?
  • You just have to exclude some directories from Windows Defender.

On the other hand, I would not run any tool on a PC with family photos, passwords or online banking on it.
  • This too is something I have been having issues with, glad I'm not the only one there but can chime in. Despite trying a few things like registry modification for windows defender to make it limited protection (being brave!) on windows 11, exclusions, it seems to without random delete xauth particularly . Sucks when you run overnight and see its quit but if you got GSA captcha breaker as a backup captcha solver this is handy in case xevil quits. This happens on VPS too but haven't tried some stuff I did on Windows 11 to try fix it.What you have to do is keep going into Windows Defender , look for the threat history and restore it if it says its quarantined. Then you open the closed apps again. Assuming its false positives but I get the concerns about viruses etc. Hope the owner doesn't mind if they read here but I remember in the install docs I think about trying to protect their app from stuff like hacking tools which AVs pick up.
  • For now, I am running the previous version, it works without Windows Defender issues.

  • Oh nice, never tried doing that, that's interesting

    I completely disabled Windows Defender.

I always kept it disabled, but in the Windows 2016 updates, it kept deleting the Xevil files.

I added the file as trusted, and it still deleted it.

The solution was to completely remove it through PowerShell.

  • Its Fine to Disable Antivirus or Add All XEVIL Folders into Allowed List
XEvil is Completely Safe to use
