Efficient Catchall Email Setup for GSA SER Projects – Is There a Better Way?

Hi guys,

I wanted to share how I currently create catchall email addresses for my GSA SER projects.

Here’s my setup:

  • I buy cheap domains from Namecheap, usually $1–$2 per year.

  • Then, I connect those domains to Zoho Mail.

  • Inside Zoho, I upgrade to the Mail Lite plan ($1/month per user) and create a single inbox set as a catchall email.

So the total cost per project per year is:

  • Domain: $1

  • Zoho Mail Lite (1 user): $12
    Total: $13/year per project

My reason for using one catchall email per project is to avoid deliverability or spam issues by isolating them.

My concerns:

  • Zoho only allows one catchall per user, so for multiple projects I have to create multiple Zoho user accounts, which becomes messy and time-consuming.

  • While $13/year isn't too expensive, it adds up quickly when scaling.

My question:

➡️ Is there a better or more efficient method to set up catchall emails for multiple GSA SER projects?
➡️ Or maybe a provider that allows multiple catchalls under one account?

Would love to hear how you guys manage this or if there’s a smarter setup. Thanks in advance!

You need one catchall email and you can add multiple domains for zoho free. Actually thats not the real issue with zoho. The real issue is that it has limited incoming emails per hour or mins. I don't remember.. however it  was real for me.. so I had to buy a server and setup.

Works great and my verified list service work great with the setup

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve also personally tested both the Zoho Free and Mail Lite plans, and here’s what I found:

-The Free Plan only allows one domain to be added, and does not support POP3 or App Passwords.
-These features are only available once you upgrade to Mail Lite or higher, which is essential if you're using tools like GSA SER. Without POP3, GSA can’t even connect to the email account.

If you're using an older Zoho account, it's possible you still have legacy privileges. But for new accounts in 2025, the limitations are strict.

Initially, I misunderstood how Catch-All works — I thought I needed one Zoho user per Catch-All inbox, and ended up thinking I had to create multiple Zoho users.

    Now, I’ve streamlined the setup:

-I use only one Zoho user account
-Add all purchased domains into this account
    - For each domain, I verify and configure:

    • MX

    • SPF

    • DKIM

    • DMARC
Then I set all domains to point to the same Catch-All email inbox.

For a more advanced setup, I also enable Catch-All on subdomains by configuring:

    • MX records for *.<domain>

    • SPF records for *.<domain>

     -Example (main domain Catch-All only):

    • Catch-All inbox: abc@def.ghi

    • Domain: uvw.xyz

    • All emails sent to *@uvw.xyz will land in abc@def.ghi

     -Example (Catch-All for wildcard subdomains):

    • Catch-All inbox: abc@def.ghi

    • Domain: uvw.xyz

    • Subdomains: *.uvw.xyz

    • Emails like 123@a1.uvw.xyz or anything@z9.uvw.xyz will also land in abc@def.ghi

Regarding the Zoho mail receiving rate limits (per hour or minute), I haven’t hit any noticeable issues yet — probably because I’m still running a small number of GSA SER projects in testing.

Just wanted to share this in case it helps someone else with setting up Zoho for high-volume GSA SER operations.

    Hello,

You can use CatchE; it allows you to create catchall emails automatically and also updates your selected GSA SER projects with fresh emails at the interval you set, so you won't need to take care of your emails anymore. The license includes email hosting, and there is no limit on the email hosting. The monthly subscription fee is just $9.
