Directory links?

Do Directory links leave a footprint?
I'm setting up a template for T2 links and not sure if I should include directory links.

Thinking it is good for T3+ but wanted to check what others think.

    They have not much value these days...almost like blog comments so using them for t3 is ok I guess.
