Max number of threads

Hi @sven - If I use 300 threads for SER, what is the maximum number of threads I can use for GSA SEO Indexer based on my server specs attached?

Thanks

I really can't give any numbers here. However, 100 threads should work on SEO Indexer.
  • It also depends on if you use proxies, do you make SEO indexer check if the sites are still alive and if you run other software or not. On that specs you can push it much further than the 100 threads but you will never know how far until you are there. I did push it on a crappy vps to 300 without much problem without checking if the sites were alive or not.

I am using proxies but not checking if sites are alive. It is currently running at 1200 threads as I have over 600k links for it to process.
  • That sounds about right. If you plan to push it higher try with smaller batches of links first so even if it crashes and doesn't save the already processed links you don't have to start all over again.
Also you may want to think about not using all the included sites but only a fraction of them. Filter out those that have less chance of helping you and concentrate more on those that more likely to produce results.

How do you do your filtering to know which sites are beneficial?
  • Simply choose those sites that have higher PR.
If you really have plenty of time at hand you may do a test project and check the created urls then asks Sven to remove the sites that are porn, harmful, etc.... Maybe ask Sven to add an option that enables us to choose sites we want to post to like it's in url redirect pro.
