    so no detailed pop3 error at all but a connection to that pop3 server failed.
    Is 110 actually correct and not the more common 955 ssl port?

    Port 110 is correct common ssl port which number I'm using 900

    something is blocking SER from accessing that server then. It is not even able to connect it seems. Please send me the project backup so I can check if it works here.

    Again, something on your end is blocking access to that server. Try to whitelist SER in anti virus/firewall.
    It's no problem on SER itself.
