Hope you all are having a good weekend.
I have question: Looking into SSL certificates, and have found that:
1. The big domain registrars/hosting companies rip you off
2. There's a range of SSL certificates, from the very cheap to more expensive
My question is this: Is it a binary signal? You either have it or you don't. But it doesn't appear that this is actually the case.
There are various levels of certificates.
For example, SSLS.Com offers:
- domain validation
- organization validation
- extended validation
Is the most costly variety only appropriate for a site where e-commerce is conducted? Will G00G see these all differently and score the SSL signal accordingly?
Trying to re-organize all my domains and hosting set-ups during lockdown. It's a good time to do this...stuck at home, anyway.
