Twitter has new grey and dark skins. Is dark background best for our eyes?

Wow! Feels like old-school BBSes with ANSI grafix on 640X480 monitors! :p

I always thought the bright white backgrounds aren't so good for vision.

Anyone know of any studies?

Anyone have any subjective opinions? Experiences?

I notice the new GSA programs allow darker skins. Anyone prefer these to the white backgrounds?

best for your eyes is probably a dark green. ;)
Anyway, the dark theme should always be used with little to no background light (at night).

I may just try that.  I actually preferred the black-background BBSes had way back when.

The bright white is unnecessarily using more energy to light, and invariably decreasing the lifespan of the monitor.

Yeah...this is when it's most bothersome. Especially if I get up after working at my machine...

I'll play with screen background color and see how I like the change.

    Thanks for replying, everyone! :)
