verify by=email = logs into your email account and tries to find a link that is coming from the same webpage domain.

we should be able to provide "find url" "find link" and they should have priority over default finding in email

Hmm in what situation did you see a wrong link being picked up?
  • andrzejekandrzejek Polska
Mediawiki, but it was always a problem in some cases...

Ive seen emails that were not parsed, activation links were still in the inbox... anyway imagine a case where verification email looks like:

Welcome, please activate your account !

This is an activation link for http://forum.gsa-online.de

To request a new actiation link please visit : http://forum.gsa-online.de/resendactivation/token=3243

What happens? Why i cannot tell ser what link is correct if the logic is already here?

  • SvenSven www.GSA-Online.de
well you can if you use "verify by=extractemail" .. then you can specify what to extract and also use "find url/find link". See Drupal - Blog engine.

Yes i know that, but it complicates things, instead of use existing logic (but provide other urls to look for) we have to extractemail.

you can use "verify url=..." and have some kind of mask there which is used to identify the correct URL and email.

Hmm could you give an example in free time?
  • andrzejekandrzejek Polska
Yep, good idea, but wont help if links are different
