How Can I Set Up My Own Redirect Database?

KevinRBKevinRB Chiang Mai, Thailand
Hi Sven

I recently purchased GSA URL Redirect PRO hoping to be able to generate multiple redirect links to use on my Pinterest marketing efforts. Unfortunately the sites on your database are not suitable for my purposes....

So, what i am wondering is if you could confirm back to me how i can set up my own database of my own sites(50-100 domains) that i could then input via the custom upload function within the software.

The only types of redirect i want to use are meta-refresh and javascript.

Please could you assist me?.

Regards
Kevin

you can import your own sites to the software. However, there are pretty much all redirects added that I know of. I don't think you will find some more.
Meta-Refreh + Javascript redirects can be filtered by link types if you only want that.

Thanks for the prompt response Sven, but i think you misunderstood my question....

I am wanting to make my own redirects using my own sites/domains, but i cannot work out how to prepare my sites/domains for them to generate the shortened link/redirect...

I want to upload them via custom upload and generate new shortened redirects in the same way that the sites in your database do....i just don't know how to create the coding to make it happen?.

as long as the program finds a form where to input an long url and a button like "shorten" it will work...just import the urls where that form can be found.

    Hey @KevinRB,

I believe what you're looking for is called "YOURLS." It's a free PHP application that you can install on your domains: https://yourls.org/

Thanks Sven and @kxp for your suggestions, i read through many threads to find the Yourls application....after a couple of hours to get it set up on a test hosting account i can create new links within the app but cannot create new links when i upload the test hosting account to GSA Redirect URL....it is so frustrating, i feel like i am really close to cracking it, just need the final piece of the jigsaw

well how did you add your sites to the program? MAke sure the file with the urls is correctly encoded and not with utf-16 in it.

    Hi Sven

    I am getting closer....

I have Yourls added to my hosting account, I have the url added to GSA Redirect URL: http://wl.natural-skin-health.com/abc which is set so that anyone can create shortened urls....i have GSA Redirect set up to only create links to this test account, all other settings are set ot "off"....I start the software and nothing is created :(

Is there any logical reason why this is not building links?.

    Regards
    Kevin

next update should support this type...it's a bit different as you opened the admin access for all which would allow everyone to delete/edit/add urls. Not really a good idea though.

Thanks fir the update Sven....this is just a test set-up i will nail down the security once i can prove the automation works.
