Low memory

Hi all,
#
I have 4GB Ram but when I reach 2GB SER says memory is running too high and stop projects to reduce threads etc.

Anyone know why that is, as I still have 50% more memory left in the pot before it should be saying that!??

Thanks for help.

Open task manager and look at memory usage. Your OS is probably using a good 2gb of that memory just to run itself.

Also, SER has a hard-memory limit as its a 32bit application. So you could be hitting that to.
  • Well from what I can see, GSA is using pretty much all of it but I may be wrong. Here is a screenshot: http://prntscr.com/e14aau

and that correlates with the status bar in SER ?
  • yes it says CPU at 90 -99% most of the time.

thats really too much. How many projects/threads do you use?
  • i only have 20 projects and running at 300 threads.

how big is one project (*.prj file size)?

    Also:

What do you have max-page size set to? I've noticed if I set that to high, and hit a lot of blogs I have CPU issues. This makes sense; some spammed out blog pages can be MASSIVE (To the point that they crash my browser).

If its set higher than 4 mbs or so I would lower my threadcount, or lower page size down a bit.
  • okay, can you tell me where thst option is as I am not familiar with it?
  • SvenSven www.GSA-Online.de
@monitorr that option is in global options->filter->(at the bottom). Set it to 1MB as everything above is usually spammed to death anyway.
  • @Sven  ah yes I already have it set to 1MB. Also one project size is around 3,489kb.

3mb is really small...so it'S not that of an issue then. I have no clue why you get so much problems here really. Can you send the project backup?
  • Everything has been running absolutely fine until recently so not sure why.

just run your projects for a short time (10 threads)...it was all fine. I don't think it's about the projects or SER here. Can you try with less threads? Even though 300 threads sound OK It might be worth a try to lower them.
Also maybe you can get me access to that PC and see what eles it might be.
  • @Sven Did you get my PM with log on details? I sent a few days back.
  • SvenSven www.GSA-Online.de
    hmm no!?
  • o no probs, I have just sent it again :)
