Forum platforms that allow status updates, bios, or descriptions and contextual links

I'm trying to figure out which forum platforms allow contextual links to be placed in status updates, bios, or descriptions. Any ideas? I see a few every now and then, but never identified them.

mouse over the engine -> check if you have "Allows html in fields: Yes".

So with those engines, SER will post a status update or article with a contectual link?

Depends, you should move the mouse over About_yourself or Forum_Comment and see what engines use it.

sorry no clue. Not identified by SER at least.
  • @sven, anyway to have SER post to this? It seems simple enough. That site that is being linked to in that description is ranking #1 for Payday Loans Online.
  • JamPackedSpam audiojungle links are nofollow ;)
  • @sven - you said "Depends, you should move the mouse over About_yourself or Forum_Comment and see what engines use it." Moving the mouse over these fields doesn't say which engines use it. Is there anyway that when you right click on all platforms and click "uncheck engines that use no contextual links" that the forums/profiles that do could be remaining checked (those that accept HTML in the fields) so that it makes it faster and easier to discern which ones do and which ones don't? Also, to build links in these fields, do you have to manually insert macros in the description bodies or will SER do this for us? Thanks!

@JamPackedSpam OK I was wrong, not only mouse over but click on HELP and you see the engines.

By the way that site is supported on last update...engine Envato

  • @sven - thanks for clarifying. How do we have SER build links in the descriptions/profile updates/bios that accept HTML? Does this option place links in forum profile descriptions/bios/status updates? http://i.imgur.com/YEC6KIz.png
  • jampackedspam that site is using the 301 from mypaydaylender .co.uk TO my-paydaylender .co.uk , and its using a lot of different link methods on that first url.

@JamPackedSpam yes that will try to always place a link in descriptions even though the link was already placed in a special field on the submit form (e.g. Enter homepage url here ... ).

    Good info
  • @sven - how can we increase the amount of text that surrounds these descriptions/signatures/etc to make it look more like a blog post to a search engine? I understand that some of these fields have certain character limits. What would we edit to maximize the amount of surrounding text in those that SER will place a link in such as descriptions/signatures/updates etc?

the engine itself or add a %link% macro in the about_yourself field or even %article%.
