Scraping Competitor Backlinks

If I were to load a list of competitors into SER, disable sitelists as well as SE's.

If I tick "post to competitor backlinks"

How would it work?

@sven - how does it find competitor backlinks since it seems that the only way to do this is via Majestic or Ahrefs. 

ALSO - does anyone know of a good way to scrape competitor backlinks without the above 2 paid services?

Any ideas and discussion is much appreciated!

     It finds your competitors based on the keyword and then 
     it googles your competitors url  like links:example.com , and maybe by googling "example.com"

    Am I correct that it will only pick up the first 1000 links per competitor?

    @alexr - not if you append %kw% to the end of the queries....

    So you're saying if your keyword is "dog" it grabs the first 10 sites or so, and then does a search for their backlinks.

    I don't think it adds the %kw% since that is for the search function, not the competitor function.

    You 100% sure?
