GSA starts out fast then gradually slow down

Any idea why this is happening? The first 10 minutes or so my GSA would run at 700+ threads getting a LPM of 500+, 10 minutes later it drops to 400, then slowly finalizing at 100+- threads. I find that starting and stopping all the projects help but I honestly don't think that's a permanent solution.

    It's the verification process where not all threads can be used.
