Why Do I Need Articles?

If I am creating a project and I am not submitting to article sites maybe bookmarks, social networks and things of that nature why do I have to put an article in the software. I created my 2nd project today to get some 2nd tier links to other links and I didn't want to use articles just microblogs, bookmarks, social networks etc. but the software made me use an article?? Any advice?

    right click in the article field and choose disable platforms that use this field. But first tick all; what's left is what doesn't require article
