Are PR options redundant?

Since Pagerank hasn't been updated for aaages and apparently won't be updated again, I'm not sure if using PR filters is really that necessary. Does anyone here not use PR filters on T1 and see good results? I'm worried that if I use PR filters I'll exclude lots of decent, new sites that just don't have any public pagerank rating because the algo hasn't been updated for almost a year... A long time in internet years :)

PR was updated recently mate. I use PR1+ on T1 just to try and avoid getting any crappy sites on there, but it slows LPM a fair bit. Thinking of removing it completely.
  • I don't care about PR. I may use it for some separate projects sometimes just to test.

Yea PR was updated a month ago, but it can be cheated easily though..

Mainly posting to sites that have a domain PR of 1+ helps to avoid the spammy places for my tier 1 links. And PR was updated on 6th December I believe, over a month ago.
  • I have noticed that if I do not use a PR filter on the T1, that my results are poor with regard to site quality.

OK, thanks for input. Does anyone use PR of Domain? I am trying it out. I think with Subdomain is safest, Page is a no-no.

I am using only PR of Domain as most links are contextual, I think with other options there won't be much targets
