Best time to replace emails?

With so many projects and always wondering the best time to replace emails, I usually get lazy and be confused. Like if I replace the emails of projects with new ones haphazardly, I'm afraid I may loose verification's for lot of sites. I've tried setting the status of projects to both "Active - Verify" and "Active - Verify Email Only" but both keeps on running as long as they can and produces no worthwhile output.

So when or how do you guys decide to replace emails? Just randomly?
