Low verification rate with wikis

I am getting an extremely low verification rate with wikis, around 1%.

I have enabled my email client (hotmail) to accept all emails containing "@", and verification emails are being sent there.

I'm wondering- what are some common causes for low verification rates to wikis? I have searched Google and this forum but haven't found a clear answer.

It looks like I am getting a reasonable amount of verification emails sent to me with passwords sent to me from wiki sites upon registration, but no posts are being made.

you get logins/password for wikis sent by email? What type of wikis?

Ones like this: http://wiki.hometech.com/tiki-index.php

and this: http://liama.ia.ac.cn/wiki/

wiki.hometech.com send login/password by email but you enter them directly on the registration form.

the other one is a docuwiki which might be a bit more restrictive on what they accept
