{Dumb Question} Proxies/IPs With Dedicated Server

The dedicated server I'm going to buy soon gives an option to add on 61 IPs to my account.....I'm guessing this would save having to go through a 3rd party proxy provider. There is no where to see if they are semi or private, though. This is the first time I've bought a dedi and had IPs allocated (it says /26 IP allocated)( 61 usable).

I know this sounds dumb but would 61 IP addresses get banned compared to a proxy service? Or are proxies just a bunch of IPs on rotate?

If you're using the IPs that are directly associated with your dedi, then it will be your dedi provider that gets any complaints. I'd stick with proxies, unless you your dedi provider is unlikely to be bothered about possible abuse complaints.
  • Thanks @cherub. It's a shame as 61 IPs is $45....far cheaper than dedicated private proxies...oh well. Thanks for confirming. I'll stick with a proxy provider then as I wouldn't want to annoy my dedi company.

I've been there, and it is tempting to use those IPs you just happen to have lying around, but using them for any sort of automated SEO software will be asking for trouble.
