Moving to a VPS

I did a few searches and saw people asking about specific issues they were having but nothing all inclusive.

I am moving off a home PC to a VPS. I want to make sure I get everything please take a list and let me know if I forget everything.

First, stop all projects...

need to backup all projects, is it okay to do this as one file, or should I back up each individual project?
back up options and move that over
take all my lists over. This confused me as when I opened those folders I expected one file, and there are hundreds. Should I just zip the folder, move it over and unzip it?

Anything I missed?

hi there; you can use ser to remove duplicate domains in all the files except blogs,image comments,trackbacks, and guestbooks (in all those folders) and then zip it

with these you want to just remove the duplicate urls

right click->modify project->backup all
you can then move this file however you would like it to transfer

you can back it up a couple of times if you choose but following these instructions will get you where you need to be
