Missing links on some platforms (Plone)

I was browsing through links on a project and it hit me that the Plone platform doesn't show the links - or they are there, but not as a link just normal text. I've seen it on several sites by now. Is there something that can be done about this?

Also... When the link is there, clicking it requires you to logon to the platform before you can go further. I can't see the SEO use in this?

I would need some sample sites for that.
