FAQs
Why did I receive this complaint?
Anti-piracy companies automatically monitor public bit-torrent trackers for IP addresses that are involved in illegally sharing copyrighted material. These companies then send a file sharing complaint to the underlying ISP behind the IP address, and this ISP then forwards the complaint on to us.
We are legally required to forward on the complaint to the suspected customer.
Have you given anyone my details?
No. We have protected your privacy and no further action will be taken against you by the complaining party unless a court makes an order to force us to hand over information. If we get notice of such an order (or any steps which might lead to an order), we will notify you again, but be assured we have NEVER been ordered to hand over information as a result of a file sharing complaint.
I am innocent - how come you have identified me?
We have matched the logs supplied in the file sharing complaint with your account usage. Mistakes occur within the companies that make these complaints and many innocent internet users are regularly accused and threatened by them. However, if you have shared your HMA account details or
someone else has access to your computer, it could be that person who is responsible. For this reason, we suggest you do not share your HMA! account details!
Best regards,
Dragan
