How do I make it Index faster?

I've got a good connection. I replaced my firewall with an enterprise class firewall. I installed a DNS server on my windows server. I've got 50 proxies. I can't get SEO indexer to run faster than 1500 LPM. It doesn't seem to matter how many threads I add after 200 (the limit may be lower).

I want to run in full index mode, but it's way slower than SER.

Is there any way to run multiple copies?

What's the fundamental limit on the speed of the software?

BTW: I've got a quad core / 8 thread CPU, and it's only using 10% of the cpu time.
