Anchor text URL Problem

I have noticed that a number of submission have the full bb code and not just the link

ie.[url=http://mywidgetpage.com}Widgets[/url]

What am I doing wrong and how do I get a clickable ink with my keyword anchors?

You don't do anything wrong. Even though that type of site is pretending to allow bbcode in the post, it does not recognize it correctly and transforms it to html. I have seen the same on that engine. Some work, some don't.
