If YouTube videos are at the top on a not too popular keyword, are they easy to top ranking wise?

I have a keyword that I want to rank for. It's not too popular, but a YouTube video is ranked in position 1. How difficult are YouTube videos to pass ranking wise?

Most often youtube videos are just blasted with spammy backlinks to get the top spot in google. It should not be too tough to outrank a youtube video.
